Sebastian Young, The KosmicKaijuu

KosmicKaijuu, adequately named Sebastian Marie Young. I've been a drawing nut and dramatic kid since the early age of eleven years old and as it stands at the ripe age of twenty seven years I'm still very much that, in varying degrees mind you. What that means in a broader context I've been or engaged in the following for as long as I've been allowed to by ever changing situations. In this lifetime I have the privilege of saying I've been a freelance commission artist for about six years going into seven. Doing a variety of customized pieces for clients using both digital and traditional drawing mediums and elements. I pride myself in being determined in the field more and more, going so far as to attend a total of three years of college. This includes one year of Arts and Design Foundations which allowed me opportunities to adventure out into other fields of design. During that time I also was accepted to participate in a two year Animation course teaching the fundamentals and skills needed for 2D and 3D animation process.

These courses allowed me to pick up things such as Comic Book Production, Script Writing, Storyboarding, Portfolio and Business Presentation, Video Production and Editing, Character and Environment Creation, Typography, Graphic Design, and Code Based Web Design. All of these skills I have benefited from and used in direct contribution to my online business and presence. It makes the concept of being able to do anything I set my mind to a practical and attainable feat that with each time I can only get better at.

At the present moment I've taken these skills and abilities to work from home as a full time freelancer for any type of work I am presented with by online and in person clients. I attend local conventions to further present my talents and works to the public as well as grow my connections with my audience and other artists. This is on top of planning to return to streaming on Twitch and releasing a proper YouTube Channel at some time in the future, as well as a part time job to support home life. This of course is all in hopes that I might one day be able to self sustain as a freelancer in the future. Full time self employment with my own home studio is the end goal.

When I'm not working on the above I'm expressing myself in other methods like creating fan work via custom made pixel art and perler bead crafting. I also attend conventions as a regular Cosplayer of the shows, games, and other series I've come to know and love. No matter the time or the means I'm always doing something to keep myself engaged with my own creativity and imagination.

Now that we're better acquainted there is one thing I want to leave on and it's the age old question I've had asked of me from every artist, fan, or person that has allowed me a brief moment of their time. Why do you do it all? A simple answer that I can give a quote for, it has become like a personal motto to me:

"The noblest art is that of making others happy." - P.T. Barnum

I do it for the passion and inspiration I gain from being able to do the things I love. I do it for the joy and excitement that others find in participating with me and my work at every event. I do it for the pure raw emotion that comes with the job whether from myself, the people around me, or the thousands of others I could inspire one day. When I see that smile, that cheer, that single moment where I've made someone the happiest even if only brief. It's for that reason right there I do what I love and it's that reason mainly why I continue to do all this and eventually more. So I can pursue that noble art of making people happy.

Thank you for your time and consideration as you browse everything I have worked to achieve up to this point.

I Am KosmicKaijuu and this is my journey.
